Well got the new programmed TCM in, but the converter is still not locking, so we are going to try a stock converter and see if that makes a difference.

Check for the o'ring on the turbine shaft when you remove it.

Well put the stock converter in, and even though the car runs better it is still not locking. The O-Ring was fine. I have now yanked the transmission back out of the car and shipped it back to the builder, they are going to tear it down and see if they can see the problem. Also they are trying to figure out a way to but it on their tranny dyno. I have also been in contact with TransGo since they are trying to learn all they can about this tranny. They thought it was a bad solenoid pack, but since that has been replaced twice, that is kind of ruled out. Will keep you posted when I get it back, maybe they will find a problem with the valve body or a frozen valve, who knows.

You also need to make sure you don't have any other DTC's in the pcm. Some PCM DTC's will cause the transmission not to lock up, and could cause you to chase your tail.

Thanks, I will check that out, after the tranny gets back. I had to truck it back 1250miles across the country again, and they should receive it today.

I should have said something before about that, but it didn't really dawn on me at the time. I had one earlier this week that was setting a p0171, and not letting the converter lock-up.

Default Fixed!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well they found the problem. The pump for the the torque converter got installed backwards or upside down or something. So anyway the builder really stepped up reimbursed me, and even sent me a gift cert for dinner as a way of apologizing. Everybody has problems, but I really glad the builder stepped up and took care of the issue. Now, just can't wait to get the tranny back and reinstalled and running again.

I've just replaced my 6l80 and at WOT in 1st and 2nd, it's as if the clutches slip and won't hold! Gear changes are smooth and fine at low loads, cruising around town etc, it's only at WOT?

I'm worried I bought a 6l80 from the aftermath of Katrina??
