The SS3200 is a 9.5" converter designed for N/A and small shot nitrous or small turbo.

PY3200 is a 10.5 " converter built for power adders SC, Turbo, ect.
the PY also is made of thicker gauge metal to handle the extra stress a power adder places upon the total converter

Thats good to hear, I've been looking at the SS series in either a 3,800 or 4,000 for my car, I've wondered how well it would do with stock 3.23 gears(not spending any money on the 10bolt and want to see how long it will last lol). heads/cam/90-90 put down 450/420N/A and 597/590 on a 150shot.

Edit-
I just picked up a used SS3800 this morning, Im going to send it in for a cut and clean and may have it bumped to an SS4000. we'll see how well it works for me.

I came across your videos on youtube, DAMN!
I would be very happy with a 1.3X 60' pulling the fronts we have the same suspension mods, have you pulled any weight out?

yeah i have the car fairly light around 3250 with me in it although i havent weighed it in like 2 years i will sometime this season...front rear bumpers supports, a/c, passenger and rear seats and belts, front sway and bracket, sound deadening under carpet, lighter driver seat, pin on hood (35lbs there), washer resv., heat sheilding, that is most of it...

yeah the 10 bolt is fairly strong if you keep the 3.23 gears, mine is still stock untouched...i am making a hair less power than you though too...but i dont think it is going to like the spray out of the hole...i would have my fingers crossed...

yeah, My suspension setup is pretty decent, with the power I have im a little concearned about spraying it out of the hole but we'll see. My NBM SS got sprayed out of the hole when I was making 550/570ish and the 10bolt never gave me any problems. I think it was the stock tranny that I think hated it the most. lol

as far as weight reduction
I have some AFCO coil overs
Bogart Wheels
!front bumper support
!front sway bar
!back seat
Thats it for now, I want to do drag brakes and K member down the line though.

The best i ever pulled out of my old H/C nitrous NBM SS was a 1.63 that car with a better converter(had a 3200vig) should have gone atleast mid/low 1.5s. With the SOM SS I have better suspension/ 40hp/30tq+/ better converter, I cant wait to put it down the track .

My friend sprays out of the hole with his 10bolt, he has been through 5 10 bolts...3 GM paid for...
His last 10 bolt has lasted a while but he hasn't raced as much as he used to....either
