want to put cam in auto trans buddy has a stock ls1 with an auto, wants me to put a 224/224 cam in there for him.... i told him i wouldnt until i knew it would work, he cant afford to replace his torque converter...
For driveablility that 224 cam is one of the best on the market for stock manners. If you are asking about the transmission anytime you start making more power than stock the transmission can for sure fail, hell even stock the 60E can fail. It really depends on what he is going to do with it and if he is going to rod the crap out of it all the time.
OK so it will work great on the stock torque converter, got it. I could care less if he blows the tranny, I just dont wanna put a cam in there that hell need a 3000 stall for!

I am running a cam like that now with a stock convertor. Though is not ideal it works fine for me. Yes, I have a little bit of brake pull but its livable. We will see how much I was leaving on the table when I finally put a stall in it. lol
