I think you can get a drainplug kit at Autozone. When I rebuilt my tranny, I installed a drain plug. You'll need to make sure that it doesn't interfere with anything since it will reduce pan clearance to filter and vb.

How about getting one off a a truck with a plug already in it, and youll have a little extra fluid capacity along with it.

yeah they got drain plugs at autozone or whatever in the HELP section. i get them all the time. i put drain plugs in every rear end or tranny pan that me or any buddies take down. makes fluid swaps easier the next time. i like to weld mine in so they dont interfere with anything on the inside. they come with hard plastic washers that are supposed to seal and a big nut to go on the inside of the pan but with trannys there isnt much room for drain plugs that stick up inside the pan.

Some of the trucks with 4l60E's have a slightly deeper pan that comes with a drain plug already in it. The bolt pattern will be the same as your transmission pan. Not exactly sure from year to year but I have seen them in the full size C/K trucks as well as the S/T trucks.

'02 Silverado pan is what I got, don't know which
other years did and didn't have drains.

Not only is there more capacity, but if you use the
truck filter your pickup is further down in the juice
which can prevent you sucking air on hard cornering.

I bought a TCI deep pan with cooling fins on the bottom. I have a question do you run the stock filter or the other filter for the deeper pan. The pan has 6 like pins on the inside I was wondering was that for the stock filter to keep from falling out.
