My 01SS A4 ran 12.96 @ 108.8 IT WAS NOT COMPLETELY STOCK
The mods: Free air box base cutout, K&N ( no power gain), MAF...that's it !!! Stock tires, stock converter, stock 3:23's, stock everthing else.
This was at Carlsbad...and the track hates street tires (2.0 60')
I was impatient I made my 1st pass at around 700 miles.... and it took me awhile to get the launch right.
With a bone stocker, properly broken in( atleast 2,000 miles) and launch technique perfected on a bone stocker I'm sure I can get a very low 13 ..but a 12 totally stock ....hard to imagine...maybe at the fast NJ tracks( E-town)...I heard of some running 12's bone stock there ..but not in CA.
When I added Hooker LT , ASP pulley, and interior delete I ran 12.50's @ almost 112 !!!! If I could've got a better 60' I 'd would'da been in the 12.40's for sure. Stock cam, stock tires, stock converter, stock gears...I thought that was pretty fast. Dynoed 355 / 361 TQ- it was a little freak.
Before I went to C-Bad I took it to LACR and ran a best of 12.95 @ 108.5 every pass but one ( 13.003) was in the 12's. In fact I ran atleast 4 runs in the 12.95-97 range - and I have 'em all on video !!!! Those were the days.

Something must have been faulty with the clocks because a stock LS1 automatic IS NOT a 12-second car. Makes me wanna laugh everytime I think about it.

Threw in a 3500 converter and went to MIR and ran an 11.87@113mph with a DA of –1500ft. The car only had the spare tire and jack removed and weighed in at 3480 (190lbs)with me in the car. A set of 17in BFG drag radials on the stock wheels and it hooked a 1.59 60ft. Dyno showed 326/344, pretty stout car and it was reasonably light compared to fully optioned cars.
