Default Keep 700-r4 or go to 4l60e?

I have a 700 already in my 2nd gen and have an ls1 going in. Wanted opinions on going full electronic or keep what I have as far as the transmission. The 700 is some what built but, still needs upgrades. I'm aware of the mods to mate a 700 to an ls1. Am I gaining anything with a 4l60e or is it just another tuning parameter to deal with? Thanks.

its basically one of those things where some like the electronic and some like the vacuum controlled. i like having the computer controlling the tranny for me. i left a little torque management in mine to kind of act like a buffer. keeps me from really beating on the tranny and will hopefully make it last longer.

They are operated by a t.v. cable, so it is hard to find a throttle body that works with the ls1 since there is not a provision for the cable.

The 700r4 is TV cable vs govenor controlled. IMO the electronics in the 60e are and upgrade since they allow you to set shift points where you want them.

Plus the 4l60e valve body is much lighter. It counts when you're on your back bench pressing it.
