If you read alot of threads on these forums, no matter what company you can think of, there will be people who have had good experiences, and bad. Its just part of running a business. There is no possible way that one company can make everybody happy every single time. You have to understant you are dealing with transmissions in highly modified cars and trucks. These aren't simple things like nuts and bolts, there are bound to be failures every now and again. Some people can understand it and some people can't and don't hesitate to trash peoples names to feel a little better.

That said, I have been running my performabuilt level 2 for a year now. It's my daily driver, i take it to the track, i **** pound it on the street, and i make a 400 mile round trip run with an 8500 lb trailer several times a month with my half ton trans. I had a different company's converter go bad in it not long after i installed it. I called frank on a sunday night and they had a new trans on my doorstep that thursday, i payed for a new pump, and that was it, they paid for whatever else needed to be repaired and the shipping both ways without a question when the problem had nothing to do with their trans! I know I have talked to quite a few other people that are very happy with their PB trans, but FLT has a great reputation for a reason also. I went with PB originally because they could get it to me within a week, no core charge, free shipping, and for less money than FLT. All in all if you go with them, you will be happy, if you aren't, it's because you aren't willing to work with them to solve your problems, i know they will bend over backwards to help you!

I just placed my order with FLT July 9th. It took a little longer to get, currently it's being installed in my Trans Am pushing 650hp with spray. I can't wait to beat on it when I get home from Afghanistan for leave in late Aug.

And both companys offer military discounts!

I just wanted to testify that my Performabuilt 4l60 in my 05 GTO has been a absolute pleasure and handles almost 600 whp without a hitch... not to mention the smooth running and shifting on my daily commute.

I personally know half a dozen people locally that use 4l60's and 4l80s from Frank, and the top notch service and personal attention to detail is top notch.

I have about 7000 miles on my Lvl 2 Performabuilt and it shifts great, my car is not a big HP car, but it makes 427whp and the trans has no troubles with it. Every time I have had a question Frank anwered the phone and helped. They are a great company and build a quality transmission.

My experiance with FLT has been excellent for a few years now.

In 2007 I did a Level 4 from FLT and had 185 passes and 7000 street miles of flawless use behind a 440RWHP N/A 6.0L

In 2008 I upgraded to a Level 5 and did 150passes and 6000 street miles with a 76mm turbo'd 6.0L that made 700RWHP and 636TQ best of 9.88@143.

In 2009 I am using the Level 7 Maximum performance unit. So far 55 Passes on this unit with a best of 9.52@149.85mph. HP has not been confirmed on a dyno yet. Truck weight is 4050Lbs with me in it.

All of these combinations have been with a YANK converter.

All my dealings with Chuck, Vince and Andy have been 110% satisfaction, and the durability of these units speaks for itself. I hope your happy with whatever choice you make.

My 2 cents.

I'm kinda old fashioned because I usually stick with what works! Chuck and the guys at FLT are top professionals and highly thought of by their competitors. My little Vette dynos 850 RWHP which is 1000 at the motor AND I run SLICKS @ 100 +/- runs EVERY YEAR as most of you know. I run mid to low 9's consistantly and have not had a 4L60E tranny issue in YEARS!
My vote goes to FLT

IMO RPM is a good company. I dont think they are a supporting vendor on this board however a few supporting vendors do carry and sell there products.
