this is coming from a previous M6 guy. i used to be the same way, untill I swapped over to a stalled th350. There is only 1 saying for this thread "M6's impress high school kids, auto's win races"

mariojmoe, Maybe it was the builder of the transmission? I have had 3 ATI transmissions. First was a glide and 5,500 stall. Ran 10.0's and never broke. Second was a reverse manual valve body in my sons Mustang. Never broke. Current is TH350 and 3,200 stall. Takes all the abuse I can throw at it.

i lol when i hear people say that about autos. just like what everyone else has said. it separates the people who know, from the people who dont know. i actually like that my car is auto, i just bought a stall and know it will make me love it even more. i just want the ability to stomp on the gas and my car goes. the stall will help that tremendously.
look how many m6's are on this list compared to autos.

I really like that i made 10 1/4 passes in one hour at the track last week (threatening rain, no one came) and they were ALL within .0x second and .x MPH. That's consistency.
It's a real blast to drive an M6 on the street and windy roads and whatnot, but as a fellow member once said "if i'm trying to impress the girl next to me, chances are I have better things to do with my right hand".

I used to have a 97 TA A4. All was done was a shift kit and that thing was a blast to drive. Im definitly doing a Stalled Auto in my 240sx either with the LS1 engine or the SR20 i already have. As far as tq convertor adding mph, i dont see how it could. MPH is more related to how much power the car is putting down. Convertor doesnt really change that. Itll make it quicker ET wise since you get into the powerband faster.

Your MPH wont change much if any, sometimes they go down..
it all depends on the converter, if you get a really good converter it will stay the same or go up slightly.. if you get a shitty converter you could see a loss in MPH..
you should expect a minimum of .5 reduction in ETs..
