I have had the same experience... people just can't believe how it launches and just keeps pulling after shifts.

To me this is the difference: when I'd stomp it in my M6 car, I'd feel like I was waiting for it to climb up the powerband. In my stalled A4, I'm instantaneously in the meat of the powerband.

To be fair, my M6 didn't have LT's, but still, coupled with a tuned A4's ability for a lightning fast downshift, there is an immediate response that the M6 can't duplicate. Then as you stay in it, the revs just stay up where they need to be ... it's awesome.

My old 2000 WS6 M6 (bone stock except for a K&N air filter, used Spec clutch and a cutout trapped 108 and that was with stock F1s and a non-prepped track (Thompson Drag Raceway in Ohio). I would agree that 90% of M6s will outrun an A4...mod for mod...except those damn cheatin stalls! LoL

Stalled A4's will almost always get there before M6's with equivalent mods. Yes, better et's which equates to winning races. I remember getting beat by an M6 12.47@114 vs. my 12.61@107. He was cammed and making a ton more power and just barely nosed me out at the top end.
Now I disagree completely. I had a 95 Formula A4 and my 98 Z28s A4 is much better then the Lt1s. My Ls1 Z28 barked 2nd gear from the day I got it, bone stock and now with a tune it really barks! When I cruising at 25-29mph and floor it , it downshifts to 1st and spins the tires and then barks 2nd and you can literally feel the car leap forward a bit just as it shifts! It won't downshift to 1st at 30mph or higher though(my Z28 has the performance 3.23 gears)!

I would love to do a stall in the car but I don't know anything about that stuff. From what I have read I am thinking Yank 3600, shift kit, B&M trans cooler and a re-tune; that sound right? My Z28 is stock except for a Borla catback and a tune and like I said the car already has 3.23 gears stock

A tune definatly opens them up! I just have a custom Diablo tune and it made a huge difference. And, bone stock a4's and m6's are pretty damn close. I have seen m6's win and a4's win depends on the car and driver I guess....

After driving mine around for a couple days now (stock w/ skip shift), I don't think it would take you five minutes to change my mind. lol

Yup. I ordered the eliminator this morning from Summit. I'm looking forward to getting that in. Next will be a Hurst shifter, exhaust, etc. I said I'd keep it stock the first day I had it. In the back of my head, I knew that wasn't going to happen though.

I love my auto even though its stock and starting to slip just a little. Even still it very handly out runs my buddies 04 GT with about 4k under the hood, 5 speed and 3.73 gears. First race was a 20mph punch i started in first he started in second and i left him like he was a stock honda civic. He said he messed up. Ok ill give him that one, driver error. Next race was a standing start 1/4 and at the end i had him by atleast 5 lengths and was still pulling on him. The guy following in the hemi 300c couldn't believe how fast my car just got up and went. A4's all the way baby no missed shifts and all the consistency you could ever want. Next up rebuilt trans and a better stall. Any recommendations for a stock motor except headers and lid?
