Default Stall on 4l60-e??

What is the stall on the 4l60-e my friend needs a stall around the 2000 mark.

Will the std unit work?

IIRC the stock converter is like a 1600 or so.. could be off.. but for some reason that number is in my head..

the TBSS converters i think work and are ike a 2400..

why such a small converter? thats a waste of time/money..

Truth. Installing a stall rated at 2000 would be like doing a head/cam swap and reinstalling your stock parts and then bragging that you have a head/cam swap.

Get at least a 3600.

I've heard between 1,600-1,900 rpms stock.
I just upgraded from a 2,800 to a 3,800 in my goat. you can feel its there, but it feels good.
a bone stock ls1 will resond very well to a 3,000-3,600 stall

My stocker powerbrakes to 1700rpm, even if I'm standing on the brake it won't go above 1700. I can't wait to have my ss3200 installed so I have good drivability again. Yank said will powerbrake to 2400-2500rpm.

Anything under a 3000 rating is truly a waste of time and money

I believe you!

I won't put anything under 4000 in any ls1 I ever own, stock or not.

IMO a 3200 completely eliminates the dead spots in a factory or bolt on car. 4K for a 230 cam.

FYI guys all listings we have in our system at advance says it's 1600 stall just letting ya know oh and these guys are right it's not worth doing anything other then a 3000 or more, I know that my car has a dead spot somewhere around 30-35 when my tq convertor locks up and my car goes no where LOL.
