Default 3600 or 4000 stall?

im debating with this choice. i was always thinking of getting a 3600 but people say they love a 4k. my car is a DD for right now but maybe only 50-70 miles a week.
what do you guys run and whats more 'fun' out of the two.
mention your brand also

I had a Yank PT4000, DD'd it just fine. I had a friend buy a SS3600 and wish he went bigger.

I too was set on getting a 3600 stall, but the more I read on here the more I'm leaning towards an SS4000.

I daily drove a TCI 4200 w 4.10 in my old V6 for 2 years. I would say 3600 if it's your only car, 4000 if you have another daily. Gears probably made it much more friendly, but they sure suck at 80mph on the highway. All that depends on your daily commute. I'm not sure how the SS series compares. It's supposed to be tighter.

my 02 Z28 has a cam, and vig 3200 and 3.73. the car is just a little street car. nothing serious. it drives really like stock, until you floor it. but i would have no problems stepping up to a 3600 or 4000.. but i think a 3800 size stall would be a perfect size.

We have our 4C that is very popular for a DD Race Car. It will stall about 3800 in your setup. It comes with our guaranteed smile on WOT. Billet front and all the goodies inside of course.

I have a Precision Industries Vigilante 4000. Actual stall is about 4400. I LOVE it. Very driveable, and tons of fun @ the track.

I have the fti srls 3600 converter. Its a great converter and feels really tight. Doesnt go over 2k to get it moving. Also i have 2:73s and the converter is my only mod. Also hits pretty hard!

If your on the stock cam, i would recommend a 3600.

SS4000 here. Drives fine, you will have no issue. If you get the 3600, you will only regret it later when you wished you went bigger. Would suggest going 3.42 or bigger rear gear as it makes it easier to pull away at stop lights.

When I added my Converter, that alone dropped my E/T down 1.1 sec. in the 1/4 mile. That being said, I only gained 1.5 MPH though.

What mods did you have before you added the converter and what was your ET before and after? I'd be fine if I lost MPH if I could drop that much in ET by just adding that stall.

Full exhaust and M/T drag radial 255/50/16's. Went from 13.4's @ around 106 to 12.3's @ around 108. This was with a 2.73 gear as well.

Very nice gains. I dumped my 2.73 gear for 3.73's this past spring and I just had those same DR's mounted on my stock rims last week, but haven't got to use them yet. Best run is 12.91 @ 110 w/ a 1.99 60 ft on street tires. Full exhaust, lid, and LS6 intake. I'd be very happy if the SS4000 and DR's could get me down around bottom 12's.

Also seeing as how I put around 5k miles on my car a year and it gets parked in bad weather/winter I think I could handle stepping up to the 4000 over the 3600 that I originally planned on getting.

I'm in the same boat with the miles. This car is not my DD, but when I can, I do drive it. If you ran a 12.9 on street tires, you may even get a high 11 going to an ss4000.

That all depends on how you "leave" and what gear you have. The higher numerical gear you have, the lower the RPM's you leave at. With my 2.73 gear, it was a little rough, with my 3.42, it is great. Of course a 3.73 or 4.10 would be easier, but I will keep my 3.42 with my 26" tires.

In my experience with all my friends, whoever gets a 3600 stall always wants to go bigger. Those with the 4000 love it and are glad they didn't get the 3600.
