Default Tranny cooler question

I just got a b&M 70274 tranny cooler its rated at 29,000 btu and is 11x11x1 1/2 my tranny is stock so I know this maybe overkill even for florida weather but it was on sale so it didnt make sense to go with the smaller one. My question is will a cooler this big hinder the cooling ability of the rad? I have seen people on here with this model but none with results after install.

Let me tell you, you are gonna be very pleased with that cooler. I just upgraded to that one a few months ago and my temps are in check big time. Havent checked it in summer weather yet though bc its been pretty cool since install.......

i have that exact same cooler in front of my radiator/condenser and it will not affect the radiators cooling ability, you will be fine with it, I live in Tampa and the highest i have seen my tranny temp was 180 and that was sitting in traffic doin 5mph for 2hrs in first and it never over heated, as soon as i started to move it stays around 150ish

Oh yeah btw did either of you have to cut the plastic piece in front of the rad to make it fit?

Thats a big cooler to get in front of the radiator, and I wanted mine off to one side, not centered. So I had a couple pieces of aluminum plate that I attached to the metal support under the radiator, and bent a curve in them so it held the cooler up in front of the radiator. Its just a big damn cooler and its hard to find a good spot for it. I drilled holes in the front air dam and ran the rubber lines through it to get to the front of the rad. I am also bypassing the stock trans cooler, running the B+M only.

Do you have any pics? But I think i gotcha. You took two aluminum plates and kinda bent them into an L bracket shape up over the rad support to the front of the rad then bolted the cooler to the bracket correct? And no plastic had to be cut except the holes in the chin spoiler rt?

^^^exactly, no room to get a drill up there hence the reason for the brackets.....no plastic was cut and yeah its a super tight fit
