Default SS3200 commentator lol

So im goin down a main drag in Hampton here and I need to get over in the right lane to get off the next exit. There's a guy in his truck next to me so I give it some throttle to get ahead of him. Now, this is my DD and im runnin an SS3200, RPM IV 4l60e, and a slightly more than loud cutout. My foot sinks in enough to bring it to 2800 rpms, and Im still not locked up from since im only doing like 20 mph at the time and it locks up at 40ish. So my car's being loud as **** as hell, stall is slipping, and i slowly get ahead of him and get off at my exit. He follows me and pulls up next to me and starts yelling "What tranny you running in there?? Something's not right with that!"

lol I didnt feel like explaining a stall at a stop light so I just brushed it off.

Got me thinkin more about somthin tho. I think im gonna bump it down to a 2800. This thing is my grocery getter and work beater and I spend waaaay too much time below the 40 mph lock up. And I need a 2800 rpm partial throttle kick to scoot me along a little quicker than it does. What I dont get is how some of you guys drive around your DD's with 4000 stalls or even the 3600. That **** would be horrendous for me ><

i dd my 3600 i would hardly call it "horrendous" just takes some getting used too. u should go drive a car with a 4000 stall and then come back and tell me you dont want to drive that!

A loud car makes it seem worse than it is. Plus if you don't have some decent gears in it that does not help either. My SS3600 and 3.73s are a great combo. In fact it's time to have in restalled up to a SS4000.

The difference isnt gonna be night and day between a 3200 and a 2800. They will be VERY similar. If you want it to drive like stock then put a stock converter back in it. Performance has compromises. End of story

Fast and quiet is better than loud and slow.

What about loud and fast?

heh.

I see where you're coming from with the stall being loud. I hate coming home at 2am with a 3600 stall, lt's, and a SLP LM1. I'm going with a quieter exhaust with a cutout instead of sacrificing performance by going with a smaller stall.

But like said above, before spending a lot of time and money swapping to a 2800, keep it mind it's not going to be a huge difference.

The difference between a 4000 and a 3200 under normal driving conditions is one will pick up at about 2300 rpms and the 3200 will pick up around 2100 rpms.. Hardly a difference, but there will be a BIG difference at WOT

I was trying to be subtle in recommending a quieter muffler/exhaust rather than lower stall. ET & MPH before decibels .
