Default Can a 4l60e handle high speed turns?

I had the opportunity to race a Porsche 911 through a high speed turn and to my disbelief, I pulled. Speeds were from about 70-130. Two problems with taking a Porsche through a turn:
1. The other guy still gets to drive home in a Porsche.
2. I didn't have a transmission about 5 minutes later.

This has been some time ago, and I have figured since it happened that I pushed the fluid up the side of the trans and dried the pump through centrifugal force.

Am I correct in the assumption that the 4l60e should not be taken through turns like this, or was it just that transmission's time to let go. It wasn't particularly strong. "Combination Motorsports" in Vegas "built level 2" turned out to be rebuilt level nothing. Damned thing was bone stock. Not even a shift kit! Taken for $1800 on that one!

So... verdict:
Can the 4l60e be taken through extended high speed turns?

wow this is a new one for me. Considering the pump pickup is so low in the pan it doesnt seem reasonable unless the trans was really low on fluid, which then it would probably be shifting weird or not at all.

You do realize that the 4l60 holds 11qts. Now idk if you have ever ripped open a tranny, but after all is said and done there isnt much room in that place. With that being said that 11 qts is not going to rush to one side. You will be fine.

Does that SOB have a warranty on it??? I'd be mad as hell if your car is stock.

I had my 4l60e rebuilt by reputable local shop. Not two weeks later it started slipping again. They admitted to ******* it up and apologized, rebuilt it again for FREE!!!! I drove the car another hard 20,000 miles with zero problems, so I'd definetly use that shop again.

This is why I run a truck pan and truck filter - your pickup is about
an inch deeper into the juice.

+1 ^^^^Definitely a good idea if you have the ground clearance. The factory truck pan works great for most applications. Vince
