Free Th400 speedo, rear ABS?
I will be in the process of putting a Th400 in my car soon. I think I've decided I want to use the ABS sensor on the rear end to get my pulse for the PCM. I have a Midwest Chassis 9" rear and I had Eric install an ABS sensor for me. ABS is disabled on my car so this should work perfectly.
Has anyone used this? I feel like it would be the better speedo option, since it would read accurately when the front wheels of the car are off the ground. (I know the speedo would catch up after the car lands).
is all I need to do: Cut off the plug from the line that goes to the 4L60E VSS sensor, and run 2 wires back to the plug on the abs sensor on the rear?
what is the teeth count on the ABS reluctor in the rear? what would the conversion ratio be for HP tuners?
Thanks
Greg

Dakota Digital sells a cable drive to pulse generator converter for around $30. It bolts on to the tail shaft and uses the Th400 cable drive to create a pulse output that you can plug in to your electronic gauges. All you have to do is put in the correction rate with your tune. You can keep ABS that way if you like, even though it's disabled on your car.
You can run it off of an ABS speed sensor as well, there is info in the sticky about it.
