does the tranny temp sensor have anything to do with my issue. I got a call from the shop and they told me that the temp sensor wasnt wired up so i was just wondering if this could be it.

If they are making reference to the sensor inside the trans then yes it is going through the main harness connector. The harness is also connected at the manifold switch which is bolted to the valve body inside the transmission. I would think that you should be getting a code for the TOT if this were the case. the shop its at now has a breakout box, the mechanic told me it was throwing the tran temp code but when i checked it with my scan tool i didnt get any codes. The harness came from speartech. Im not sure how va speed did the reflash but i know that they keep the tune for the motor the same.

called today and he told me it was throwing the trans fluid temp code. he wants to fix that before doing further trouble shooting so hopefully that is all that it is.

nothing yet, he checked all the wiring and it is all correct. He thinks its a hydraulic issue so he is going to pull the valve body. The more i think about it, it has to be a hydraulic issue, i mean its not in limp mode and its wired right. As soon as the mechanic figures it out i will post up what it was to help out fellow members!

Well mine will shift 1-2 by itself or manually.. but will not go to 3rd or 4th auto or manual... when i say it wont go to 3rd im mean it wont shift (not like it just goes to neutral) its just stuck in 2nd..

I unplugged the the harness from the trans and that should put it in limp mode, well it wont do third just second... so with the harness its stuck in second and wont go to first.

I tested to make sure the pcm is sending singnal with leds and it is. so its not the pcm or tune..

So i pulled the valvebody today, everything seems ok.. valvebody, valves, springs, solenoids all click...

so im at a loss right now.... the trans worked when i pulled it, the only thing i was unsure of is the converter... and i dont think a converter would cause these issues...

ok electricialy its fine so i guess that means something is wrong in the tranny. Its weird thou because if you put the tranny in drive it acts like its in 1st and reverse but if you pull it down into 1st it works....<-- really weird. could this be in the valve body?

ok so the car starts in 3rd gear if you put it in drive and if you give it enough gas to get it going then it will shift on its own into 4th. So 1st gear still doesnt do anything and 2nd will work if you manually put it in. could this be a shift soleniod issue????

im thinking it may be the 2-3 solenoid because for 1st and 2nd gear the 2-3 solenoid is on and for gears 3 and 4 the 2-3 solenoid is off. Another menber had the exact symtoms i am having and it was a solenoid.

ok problem found.......the computer is not commanding first gear. if you take the two wires associated with first gear and ground them.... what do you know first gear magicaly appears. this is very frustrating because now i have to take the car back to va speed and have them reflash the computer AGAIN when it should have been done right the first time. one thing i dont understand thou is va speed did some diagnostic on my car and couldnt figure it out, so now im $350 out of pocket to another shop because they didnt do the job right the first time not even counting what ever they charged me in labor.
