I would love to see that write up of the TCI 4k and the Circle D because that is what is in my car and I feel I could be sacrificing some effiecincy on the big end. How much power are you going to be making?

As soon as my Circle D comes in and I can get it installed, I will do a detailed drivability comparison write-up. I know I am sacrificing efficiency throughout the entire RPM range with the TCI converter. The motor should be putting down around 550 on the low boost setting (7 lbs). High boost should be just over 700 (14 lbs.). These are just really conservative estimates at the flywheel. I don't really care how much power it makes, just want some solid 10's at the strip, maybe a glory 9.9 pass. That and embarrassing the occational 600cc and 750cc crotch rocket.

We have 2 cars in Australia about to start racing with Circle D 5000rpm 230mm converters
My VX Commodore with a 408 TFS235 and 3.73s on 28 x 10 x 15 Hoosier slicks. It will weight around 3650lb with driver
Willems LJ Torana which has a 445ci LS7 stroker and a Carey 2000cfm manifold 13:1 and 3.55 gears through a 9" diff. This car will weigh around 2800lb with driver

Those should perform quite well with the Circle D 230mm converter.
We recently went out to our local track for some test and tuning. Our Camaro with the HKE 408 with TFS 235 heads running a 5000 rpm Circle D 230 mm stall went a new best of 9.91@136 mph. The 1/8 mile mph was 109 mph. It's about 3250#s with a Circle D powerglide. It works great for us and we have not had any traction issues at all. That's a winning combination
Please keep us updated on the Aussie cars Oz.
BTW- Here's a pic of the ET/MPH board for any one that wants to call BS I was shocked as well. The 230mm is obviously very efficient.

Resurrecting this from the dead with some extremely late information. I found the timeslips and got the DA from my runs. The DA with the Yank was -456. The DA with the CD 5000 was 1161. Not sure how that affects the data, but there it is for discussion. On that note, I'm still sporting the CD 5000 and I have no complaints. Memphis appears to be re-opening, so if that's the case I'll be heading over and running it again with some hopefully cooler weather. I'm also considering trying out a comparable FTI or Yanks newer PT4400 just for fun. I'll keep everyone posted.

Well im going from a Yank PT4000 to a SS4000, Im also stepping up to 3.73 gears out back vs my old 3.42s. My car still has AC & is street driven on long road trips. Want to start doing the Hotrod Powertour. With the Yank PT4000 my best with TFS 215 Heads & Fast90/90 unported & all bolt ons including Elec W/P & UD Pulley was a 7.1@96 with a 1.56 60ft.
Hoping with the SS4000 I can jump out harder with the 3.73s & higher 2.6 STR out the hole. Hoping to run 6s N/A I will report back with results
