Default Beast Sunshell upgrade, use supplied thrust washer or OE torrington bearing?

I have recently upgraded a 2006 4L60E with a sunshell and was unsure about something. When installing the Beast, it came with a new brass thrust washer. The Trans didn't have a thrust washer in this location, instead it has a torrington bearing.

Looking at the surfaces where these will ride, if I use the washer only 1/2 of the surface will touch the mating part. If I use the bearing everything mates up normally.

I'm 99.9pct sure I need to use the torrington bearing that was in the trans, but just want to see if someone else has ran into this. Looks like GM did a few upgrades and removed most of the thrust washers in these later units.

Just use the bearing that the trans came with.
