Default gear install

Will installing a 4.10 or 4.11 rear end gear make a 3200-3600 stall converter feel tighter?

i dunno for sure but i think 4.10s are a bit big for an A4. my friends 93 formula has 4.10s in it and tops out at 112 mph. 4.10s make A LOT of rpm when you don't have a .50 to 1 top gear like the M6s...im guessing by the 3200-3600 stall that is for a street driven car. you might like 3.73s better. good luck either way but to answer your original question, yea 4.10s will tigthen up the stall a lot.

Ducati , I had a 73 TA with a pontiac 400 motor , edelbrock heads, solid roller, with a turbo 400 tranny full manual and 410 gears, the converter was a coan 3800stall it was a very good combo for my car , I also ran hoosier 28in slicks it wasnt bad to drive around at all , but the gas milage sucked. Car Turned 11.50s all day on pump gas with full weight . Shifted at 6400rpm.

higher number gears will help make a converter feel tighter. Also try shifting at a little higher rpm.
