Default Overdrive problems

Okay guys so i have a performabuilt level2 trans with a 3800 stall.
The car drives fine until it goes in to overdrive then when you hit the gas the car starts shaking and stuttering pretty bad.
I thought it was a tuning issue so i ordered a tune from madtuner.com and while it helped with the car backfiring and some other stuff it didnt help with the overdrive problem.
Do any of you know what the problem could be?
Is the car safe to drive?

any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

Yes sounds like the converter is locking early but i am also concerned you mention backfires and stuff as when you go into lockup in 4th if you have missfire or other ignition issue it will make the car feel like its shuddering and jerking/bucking etc .

Default lock-up

hi, i ended getting mine to lock-up at 60mph. i kept having torque converter shudder at lower speeds. i got sick of it and had it changed to 60mph. i think i would of been alright at 50mph,but it was my 3rd time sending my pcm out to have the lock-up changed so i picked 60mph to lock-up. my gas mileage suffers a little having it lock-up at 60mph,but its better than the torque converter shudder i was getting.

Okay guys i just took the car out for a drive it is still shuddering at 75mph.
But if i tap the break when its shuddering the converter unlocks and it drives fine.

So anyone got any ideas of what it could be?
