Is the 70266 a little bigger than the 70264, is this the only difference...?

The "66" is 11x8x1.5 where the "64" is 11x6x1.5 and the fittings are different. Ive got the "66" and it has 1/2 NPT fittings, where the "64" I believe has "barbed" fittings from the looks of it.

I got the 70266 because it allowed me to use my own fittings to get the angles I needed. But either is a good choice.

so Gatsby your cooler is actually bigger than mine, i wonder if i will be ok with the 70264 and no Stock cooler. i dont have a guage yet so i dont have any way of telling what my temps are.

i mounted mine in front of the A/C condenser if that matters

That's exactly how mine is mounted (see photos above). I ran 35 miles today in 70 degree weather and it never got above 125, so I think you'll be perfectly fine with a little smaller one.

Even though I didn't start the thread, had alot of good info that I was looking for on where and how to mount the transmission cooler.
Thanks Gatsby for your help.
I ended up mounting mine with the in/out facing the passenger side since the "elbow" pieces I used stuck out more from the cooler, also used some grommets through the plastic air dam piece. I also found some plugs for the stock cooler since I bypassed it (1/2"-20x5/16" tube plug for those who need them also).
Here are a couple pics of my setup.

And I know, the car is dirty right now.

Great job! Looks super clean. I'm glad you got a better picture of the lines on the backside of the dam (how they connect).

Glad this thread was helpful.

I use to have mine mounted like that . When I took a good look at it one day, I realize it was blocking alot of airflow to my induction lid and I wanted to install a FTRA kit. So I mounted it dope style and it seems to be holding up just fine.

I was considering the dope style as well, but since I have a suncoast airbox with raptor hood, I can't run a FTRA.

Thanks for the pics.

When it's mounted dope style, will it still get air flow when car is stationary and cooling fans are running...?

Dumb question: how did that mounting position get named...?

i'll do my best to anwser your question ,but no means i'm an expert . i like to think it will get air as your vehilce moves . meaning when the air hit the airdam under the car , it will stay cool. i've had mine mounted like that for awhile now and it seem to do just fine.

as for the name "dope style ", i don't have a clue where they came up with that name, but it works . you can do a search on it and you will see alot of ways guys have theirs mounted.

Yes I figured dope style gets airflow when car is moving... I'm asking if dope style gets airflow when car is stopped and fans are pulling air thru radiator.

Nobody seems to know how this mounting position got named.

i'm sure it doesn't get any air when the car is not moving ,but at the same time ,how long do you plan on not moving ? I've been stuck in traffic jams ,waiting in the staging lanes at the track and even waited in line at Burger King for them to slater the cow and then cook it. no problems ,so far . You should be fine.

Dope style is how Mac 2002 SS mounted his cooler (parallel to the ground on the passenger front corner. No fans unless you add one to the cooler, but you would have to worry about ground clearance.

Mounting it like Gatsby and I did (infront of the AC condenser) should allow some airflow while stationary when the radiator fans kick in and pull air thru the cooler, AC condenser, and Radiator. While moving, the airdam will force air up over and thru the cooler, same as it does for the AC condenser and radiator.

Ok, that's what I'm looking for...... I never planned it, 0 mph for 45+ minutes on the Santa Monica Fwy on a 100°F day.

I like the dope style, but I sit unmoving for a lot and was worried about not getting airflow (even with the fans on).

Also, I did this mod so that I could cool the fluid in the staging lanes, and the dope style would not really allow me to do that efficiently.

I've noticed a 5-15 degree reduction in coolant temperatures in addition to my reduction in trans temps by doing that. This tells me that mounting it the way I have it is not in any way hurting my coolant temps. (The drop in coolant temps are due to not having the trans fluid running next to the lines I suppose).

So apparently after some other research, the 70266 does not have the bypass feature listed that the 70264 has to bypass the cooler when the temp is too low. Since KS weather changes so much, I decided to run it in series.

Is there a certain coupler I should use to connect the rubber hoses? I need to connect the rubber outlet hose from the stock cooler into the hose I have attached to the B&M cooler.

The guy at Oreily's gave me a 3/8" air hose coupler with barbs on both ends, but I just realized the stock line is actually 5/16" ID. So I guess I need to find a way to go from 5/16 to 3/8...hopefully there is an easy way to do that.
