Default buying a tranny that has been sitting?

looking at buying a TCI th400 thats been sitting. I know there was nothing wrong with it when he tore it out, but it's been sitting for about 18 months.

Should it still be good or will it probably need rebuilt?

In the old days the seals weren't that good. I use to have to reseal the drums on my best friends FMX after sitting over the winter. Today the rubber is much better. It should be fine.
