No problems unless you wanna go fast. Best 60' I could ever cut on my MW 3500 2.0 was a 1.81. But it's a perfect stall for a daily driver in my opinion.

So far I have went a best of 1.67 with my Midwest in a 4750 pound truck. I like it so much I just ordered another on for my other truck.

I've not seen any really good results out of F-bodys with their converters. I'm not saying they aren't out there. It's just I happen to keep seeing mediocre to poor results.

TCI, Yank, or even Precision would be a much safer bet, IMO.

BTW, Bill, if you're looking to maximize track times and you're at least running drag radials, I'd suggest a converter with a higher STR than 2.0...especially if you're running stock gears.

My midwest converter took a dump under 340hp and about the same tq numbers. It was a 3000 stall with a 2.5str

See what I'm sayin'? Everytime the subject comes up, sad stories seem to start coming from every direction.

I had a Midwest 3600 and never had a single problem with it. Thought it was a damn good converter. But my new yank pt4600 is way better though

Mike Brown runs a Midwest in his 9.85 car. Cuts 1.40's all day with inly 5lbs of boost off the line. I'd say that's better than average. I also have a Midwest in my TH400. Have cut 1.49 on the motor

i agree...my stall came out of an heads/cam/spray fbody running a 6 in the 1/8th at over 100 mph that cut a flat 1.5 short time on an almost completely stock suspension/rearend...

i bought a new set of 555r's and so far i haven't been able to get it too hook up at all in 1st gear...

im going to the track tonight so i will have some new numbers...

I've noticed they are highly recommended on the other board, but not here. TCI gets the nod here in that price range.

pick the higher stall with Midwest. I was happy with mine, but coming from a Vig 3200 which acted like a 3800...a midwest 3200 didnt cut it. If you go Midwest, get up in the 3800-4000 range. I did pull a 1.74 on my 3200 2.5str

Midwest seems to do big volume business in other fields, not just hi-performance. Guess that is why they are somewhat cheaper at about $450.
I got one of their small street converters and it drives well. Gets 29mpg with the AC off at 70mph (cruise control).

I could not be happier with Midwest Converters. I actually am a distributor for them. There are quite a few guys in my area running them and they couldn't be happier. Excelent street manners, no lockup issues, and at the track they usually cut 1.7's with drag radials in cam and bolt-on cars.
FWIW. We will be running a Midwest in our Formula also.

If anyone has any questions feel free to PM me.

Anyone at least cutting 1.5s NA and 346ci with MW 3500-3800 converters? I keep seeing 1.7s repeated over and over and that's ok for drag radials I guess.
