Unhappy OK which way >><<

so im stationed in Germany so im limited on physical resources (i.e. parts store, tranny shops ect.)

I have a stock LS1 motor with simple FTRA, Lid, Pacesteer LT's, ORY-pipe, Magnaflow CB, STOCK tranny w/ stock converter and a Moser 12blt-33spline-c-clip elem. with 3:73 gears.

the car has been dynoed and tunned by sponsor>>> after the LT's and rear were put in by them. It dynoed at 321rwh back in late 07'. Since then the car has been here in Germany.

Ever since I arived though my car has acted funny....
If I drive below 40mph and let off the gas all together the car lunges back and forth. With NO RPM change at all. If I give it EVER so slightly gas it goes away, if I put it in "N" it goes away.

Ive changed a U-joint due to banging noises and now the one that I changed is ever so slightly loose so i think i need to do it again.

SO
is my tranny slowly going?
OR
is this a rear end issue?
the rear was overfilled by sponsor and I went through seals because of it untill Moser schooled me.
My pinion angle was at +3 due to the LCA bracket on axle tubes being installed incoorectly while car was hanging. So im upgrading my BMR NonLCA to UMI on car adj,
When the car is up and suspened by 4point, tranny in PARK I can turn one wheel close to a 1/4 turn before the other wheel turns the opposite direction.

I have banging noises when I put in "D" and "R"

when I drive, above 40mph, givin it gas I can hear a whine from the rear *told with 3:73 this is norm* as soon as I let off the whine goes away.

OPTIONS in mind due to the fact that at 90mhp im sitting at 3500rpm and sucking gas and the fact that I feel like a big fat cow on take off .

I DO NOT drag race I just want performnce.

1. TCI 6X 6speed sounds like it would help my top end and gas milage
2. Gearvendors on a fresh 4L60E
3. new stage 1/2 4L60E
4. A4 to M6 conversion

all of which will cost a lot and then overseas shipping and duty tax from the Germans.

I know this is long but if vendors or anyone can help PLEASE HELP i want to enjoy my car while I still can living in Germany autobahn

Well I may be bias but I love my M6 over here in Germany. When I had an A4 I couldnt wait to get a manual. I can cruise at 90MPH at about 1700RPM. When I get back from Afghanistan We will have to go on a cruise and check it out.

Edit: Sorry I didnt contribute at all...

my boy Chris is in Turkey he has an Anny Camaro he would love yours *provided your sig is uptodate*

I would love to have an M6 but to do it over here would kill me on cost. and how would i get me pcm reflashed for a M6.

In your sig it says lowered...how you getting away with that? Kapoun inspection lanes here a bunch of ***' they made me take mine back to ride hight last year....every year they find something stupid to nail me on. I think the dumb *** inspectors *German* are bias to german crs and dont like american cars. sent my Opel through with bad CVboots and cracked windshield and they pasted it.

Yeah man the insp guy's are punk asses. Yeah I am @ Spang A-10 crew chief/QA. I had to buy QA1's for up front and I raise it to pass and then put the Strano's back on the same day. I am always worried they will fail it for how loud it is. I have cats but they are gutted so it's pretty crazy they havent said anything. But yeah I am looking to get a MWC fab 9" but waiting to get back to the states (shipping it here $$$) So for now I have the 10 bolt and it gets real loud when I go over 120mph so I kinda take it easy. For me when I coast it will do the same jerking motion and from what i have read it may be due to backlash not set up right. I am afraid to adjust anything on it until i get back to the states because if it goes out here i am doomed.

Im thinking its my rear too. I dont remember being able to move my old 10blt *or any solid axle cars* rear wheels so much befor they engaged one another. if the dollar keeps getting stronger with a good exchange rate I might just look into a rearend shop but it still scares me the germans arent used to our cars. I do have Homberg 30 min away but its the Chevy dealer and they'll rape me.

I had to replace my 10blt. the left axle was found to be slightly bent so it would put undo pressure on the gears in turns and they would grind and pop.

anyone else have two cents I can use all the help you guys got.

This is drivin me mad. I cant just "let it go" untill it fails and have a local shop fix it. Its not that easy for us service members overseas to do you know. It takes time and twice the amount any one in the states would pay to get stuff done.

well, first off, gears when installed properly should NOT whine. have they always whined? and if you rotate one wheel and the other one goes the opposite direction i am guessing your differential is burned up at least. and your issue at 40mph seems like you have a ton of backlash. but it usually isnt that easy to detect with an auto trans. almost sounds like you are losing a carrier bearing somewhere. personally i would pull the diff. cover and look for problems that are obvious. if you are not comfortable with that, i would say a german shop would have no issue with the live axle rear.

dont you guys have an auto shop on base. i was in the Navy and wore out the auto shop on a nearby army base. surely some one there could help.

thnx for the input reading what you posted only confirms my thoughts even more.
Yes since day one they have whinned. I have been told that its normal for tall gears.

I pulled the cover earlier this year but found nothing "obvious" then again I dont have any experience with rears and have not had that ASE class yet.

Im at the shop when work and family can spare me. Since Central Texas College quit trying to get an instructor Ive been without schooling. My old instructor is to busy now that CTC let him go he runs the paid auto shop on base and there are nothing but morons in the selfhelps.
I dont have an issue with digging in on my own *since im an aircraft crew cheif and work on planes* its just the lack of tools at our shops that concerns me.

I just picked up the SA Design High-Performance Diffs, Axles & Drivelines by Joseph Palazzolo and Im reading up on rears now but it would be great to be shown first.

even though the dollar is getting stronger the Euro would still kill me to have a shop do it. plus I wouldnt learn anything.

Is there any great instructional DVD's and other lit that I should know about that might help even more?
