Thumbs down Toast 4L60E

I went to get my converter installed today and not but 3 hours later I get a call from the guy who owns the performance shop saying my fluid smelled burnt. So something that was going to cost me a couple hundred is now going to cost me a couple thousand Oh well I guess it's a good excuse to get a performabuilt transmission lol.

were you having trans issues? If not change the fluid and keep getting it. well that is unless you have money burning a hole in your pocket for a new trans.

Well it was driving fine so my mechanic said that it could possibly be ok, he just thought it smelled pretty bad. I'll drive it til it starts to slip/lose a gear and then send it in right away. Hopefully it turns out to be ok.

Yeah, I would drive it to. Sounds like they are trying to get more money out of you.

X100000 Yeah, as long is it's not slipping/neutraling out or misbehaving in other ways I wouldn't worry about it.

Went through 3 of them with my H/C/I Camaro. This is why I just went with the Th350. This isn't my DD though and I wouldn't recommend putting one in if it is your DD.

My mechanic would never try to screw me over. I am very paranoid about mechanics, but I totally trust him with my car. He showed me tje fluid and it was dark and smelled burnt, but I got it back today and it is shifting fine. Also I LOVE my stall. Thank you for everybody letting me know you also had dark/burnt fluid and your trans is ok. It gives me hope. Next to come at the end of the yr will be a built trans and cam.

Well the car needs a tune and most likely some codes deleed. Went for a cruise on the highway and it wouldn't lock up. It was locking up before and after then, but it just wouldn't lock up when I was on the highway. I haven't gotten the codes deleted for the rear o2s and egr/air, so I don't know if it is throwing any codes from the stall. I'll have it looked at on Monday.
