stall first deffinetly, and if it were my car i would get the tranny built, or buy a built tranny especially at 166K....but as for ur question a stall will probly see u better performance gains as far as quartermile goes because it will net u around 7 tenths if u go with the right one and a cam will get u maybe lets say 60 horsepower which would be maybe 6 tenths....do what u want tho

A few years ago when I didn't know much I cammed the car with the stock stall. It ran like garbage but knowing what I know now I would never cam a car again without putting the proper sized converter in there first. With that said yes it is do-able just will pull on the brakes at stop lights, run like a slug for a cammed car and generally be a pain.

once you switch the cam out.. your will be changing where you make power at.. the stock stall is designed to work with the power band from the stock cam..
you will be able to match the motors "sweet rpm spots" with the proper stall once your cammed.. you get what i am saying? they should work together to get the most out of your car.

i have a 220 cam and i just bought a new stall. The stock stall kills performance... Stock stall i could even launch at more then 1400 rpms and killed the 60 ft times. Do a stall first and then do a bigger cam... Im swapping my 220 for a 226-234 eps cam.

This.. You won't be happy with the car if you don't. Sure, it will sound good, but it will run like a turd.
