th400 transpan selection What after market trans pans for a th400 is everybody running an do you like it an why? any issues?
i just got a new summit magazine in an seen a derale pan which has a drain an also temp sensor port also for 120ish they claim to cool almost 50degrees
an would you go with a deep pan for a street car?

I would go with a trans specialties aluminum pan because they fit perfect and i like the fact that they use a gm pickup tube and hardware for the placement of the filter. B&M is nice also but they are a little pricey.The derale is ok but the tubes take up space and therefore it does not hold as much fluid also they are made from stamped steel which is not as durable as aluminum plus i have yet to see a 50 degree drop just from the pan alone.

Couldn't tell ya, I bought it and put it on then I pulled the motor out.
It fit good and has a +2 quart capacity and a 1/8" port for the sending unit

we have the aluminum deep pans for a 400 and they come with the bolts and the GM filter tube and filter spacer w/bolt for that as well. The cost is 104.99

Yea, I went to look at them online but their web site been down for the last week +. I cant stand some pans that they don't machine properly for the bolts to come on and off or having to f*uck with the pickup tube/bolt & spacer. just a pet peeve
This TSI pan looks like what came on my Abruzzi TH400 and I hate It!!!! stupid pan w a 1/8 drain plug that u cant even get the plug out cause it uses a 1/4 allen wrench and the allen wrech key way is not even 1/4 deep.......this is the thrid pan iv seen like this that u cant even get the drain plug out!!!!

Ive yet to put one in my hands. Ive always welded a nut inside the pan and use a 1/2 engine oil dan drain nut w/viton sealed washer.
Can you just retap the pan another size?
