I think generally the cooler for most street guys 18000 gvw to 24000 gvw. If you have the room I would run the biggest cooler I had room for. SD

I know, I see many people running the B&M 24k but a lot of the ones I see are Stock and around a 3000-3600 stall. I wanted to see what the 4000 guys run sense they run hotter when in street driving. I have seen a few people on here that run it with a 4000 but I just don't know how cool it will stay and if its enough.

About the biggest B+M plate cooler you can fit without modification is the 70274. Thats what I'm running and I still see 180 trans temps in the summer. When its 100 degrees outside and you have a 4k converter in stop and go traffic, I don't think it can get much cooler then that. In cooler weather with that set-up expect to barely crest 120 degrees.

Tru Cool #4590. Andy at FLT recommends it and it flat works. 165* is the max seen this summer. Infront of the condensor and its a tight fit but works.

I don't have a Yank, but I run a B&M 24k plumbed inline AFTER the factory in-radiator cooler. I also run a derale tranny pan. the one with an extra two quarts and cooling tubes. Never goes over 165* on my autometer. Bypass the B&M in the winter.

I run a B&M 24,000 mounted "Dope" style, along with a TCI deep pan and truck filter and have NO cooling issues.

Only time it'll even get to 180 is hot-lapping it at the track, and that's only in hot weather. Just cruising it'll stay 125, stop and go it'll get to 145-150 or so.

how much do you think that deep pan helps out? I cant get a big trans cooler cause I dont have the space neer the radiator (i have ssra) so im thinking on a deep pan along with the biggest one i can get dope style.

I mainly did the deep pan for piece of mind and the extra fluid. I'm sure it helps a bit, but I bet the main cooling comes from the cooler.

Make sure if you get a deep pan you grind down the nibs and put the truck filter in.

Do a search under my username for "Dope Style Cooler" and "Deep Pan Install" for the details of both.

Im running a performabuilt Level 2, and their 4k stall with a good sized tube/fin cooler mounted to the front of the condensor. Dont know the brand, but the finned area is approx. 7" x 18".

Keep in mind the deep pans make your tranny closer to the ground.

I have 2 big B&M 70274 on the radiator... covers about 2/3 of it. I haven't driven it more than around the block so we'll see how it does. No weenie lock-up and its spragless, definitely wasn't built for the street.

My buddy runs the PT4000 with the B&M 24k and says his temps never get above the mid 180s. Sounds plenty big enough to me
