4L80e +1000hp street/strip companies
Looking for good companies to check out for a 4L80e that can handle over 1000 horsepower for my turbocharged iron LS-based engine. I have looked at Hughes and PTC so far. Most of the names you know don't have any rated that high or they don't guarantee for forced induction/nitrous (seems crazy to me as I don't know many "all-motor" with that kind of power).
I know there are others. Any recommendations?
Thanks.

Sounds promising. Need to talk to them and see what HP they are rated for. Also, I want manual/auto valve body to avoid shifting during cruising and I'm unsure what these are.
I am having trouble determining from their description if their prices include or exclude the core charge.
Anyone else have a preferred company?

I think Mike Brown has the 4l80e record with a Rossler that went 7 something. It says on the Rossler sight that they have 80's that have seen 1800 HP. I like mine.

The ratings are useless, and a estimate at best. For that much hp & weight, you will need a stronger input shaft, mid shaft, and direct drum/sprag combination.

Thanks. I had looked at Jake's and heard good things. Wonder if he could do an manual/auto valvebody good for 1250hp? I don't need a transbrake as it is not a drag car.
Wow, these things are pricey, but I guess it is what to get for reliability with that high a horsepower with overdrive.

My COST on the billet parts to build a 4L80E for 1200+HP is over $1500.
Add $6-700 in rebuild parts, core costs, ~$150 in shipping and it's pretty easy to see how the numbers don't add up for a 4L80E to support that level.
I would also venture to guess that I move the most volume of billet 4L80E parts so get decent if not better pricing on most of the parts.

Power Glide will handle almost anything one could ever throw at the car and it helps calm down the car off the line which is a plus.
The reason why N/A does not get hit for the warrentee issue is on how the power comes in on forced ind or Nitrous. Nitrous is violent on parts and FI wicks up real quick and the heat generated often kills automatic transmissions. IMO you should contact manufactures directly for their reasons but if this helps.....

MightyMouse Is making over 1k HP and has a 4L80e in it and I think the guts of the trans is not all that different then a stock rebuild and red clutches. I could be wrong but I would PM him and get some more specifics.
