texas speed and performance= TCI SSF 3500 $479 -- SF3000 $429.
you cant beat that SSF, its a good daily driver convertor, i read a lot about it before i ordered it today. And at the price texas speed and performance is selling them, Its almost a 100 bucks cheaper than the nearest competitor

Are you looking to kick *** at the track? some street racing on DR's... or on slicks.. or on regular tires.
Do you mind a loose verter for max performance, tight one that pulls like mad up top for racing from a roll or a tire frying verter that will give you killer launches?
Let us know more info... then we can do more to help you.

you gotta drive one to understand truly what loose means. Also tuning is big time important. When mine was tuned to not lockup at 1000rpm'ish (35/40-45) in 3/4 it sucked gas like no tomorrow in city.
I must re-evaluate my street wheels now. The 245 nitto's appear too weak at 27psi HOT, checking out those 315 rims now.
with boltons/cam/tci-ssf3500 (see my dyno) you will blast the **** out of 245-50-16 nitto's at wot under 30mph, so i'd say DR is the minimum to safely drive on in dry conditions.
Really does take some good tuning as well with cam and trans shift tweaks, but it will feel like a muscle car not at all like what stock was..
Some days i wish i had stock back

i drive on the Vig almost everyday and in multiple stock motor cars, its been known to be good for low 1.6 60 foots on drag radials...i haven't been to the track with the new converter yet, but it feels damn strong.
"loose" basically means the car feels like the tranny is slipping horribly anywhere under the stall speed....for instance, with my 3800 or so converter, i see about 2700 rpms at shift points during normal driving (keeping up with traffic)...above stall speed though, the car runs like a raped ape.

also on more note....LS1 stock converters stall at around 1800-1900 rpm. LT1 'verters are 1600.

You probably won't like it at first, but when you get use to it you'll love it. I would get a stall around 3500-3800. If you go to small you'll end up wishing you had a bigger one. The yank SS3600 has a higher str causing it to hit harder and also feel tighter. The vig 3200 would also be good. I've also heard good things about the tci ssf3500. The higher the str the harder it'll hit, but their usually slightly less efficient than a lower str. A lower str will have a softer launch and also make the same converter feel looser. You'll for sure want a pair of nitto's.

Since you live near me you are welcomed to drive my car (as soon as the snow melts
). I have a 4400 stall, but it will give you an idea of what to expect and you will definatly know what is ment by loose
.
For your car I would agree a TCI3500 would be the best bang for the buck.
