Default Converter Choices

I have a 99 Camaro with a 408 with upgraded heads and cam. It has a turbo 400 trans. The car is full weight no nitrous. I need suggestions on choice of converter and manufacturer. I was told 9" or 8". The car is lowered and my 60 ft. times suck. Any help would be appreciated. Is there any converter that will help my 60 ft. times on naturally aspirated motor with options to spray?

I have a Neal chance vert. 4200 na 5300 on spray 9 inch converter. You have to pick either a na or a spray converter if you want the best out of the converter. They will build you a med one if you are just going to spray a small shot. Good luck on your choices. You can check my times out in my sig.

Seriously, I have heard great things about Neal Chance converters. Im sure some of our sponsors (Yank, Circle D, FTI) do TH400 converters also.

The amount of nitrous hit you plan to use will determine which diameter converter would be most suitable. We run a Circle D Specialties 230mm in our NA quicker 9 second car with a powerglide and it rocks. It could take a small shot, but if we were going to spray a decent amount, we would probably step up to a Circle D Specialties 245mm.

We have some pretty good converter sponsors here so do not hesitate to contact them directly to see what they have to offer. Neil chance and Coan are two others that really are well respected in the industry. Good luck with your project. Vince

nitto99, Give us a call or go to our website www.fticonverters.com and fill out a spec sheet and I will be more than happy to design a converter for your combo.

I have an ATI in my GTA and have been very pleased with their products and service, I'd consider using them again if I were to go with a TH400.

It is a 9" and behind a 408ci it is at 4500rpm. It is a couple years old but only has a few passes on it. It still looks in perfect shape.
