the vert tweeks or shifts to an angle when i mate the bellhousing to the block...i can get it pretty close and spin the vert smoothly but every time i get it close or start bolting in the trans to the block the vert dosen't spin freely...its starting to fustrate me..

than you might not have ur converter in all the way. Do you have ur transmission belhousing at an upward or downard angle>?

ur engine should be tilted downwards cuz it has nothing holding the back up. So you need to tilt ur transmission belhousing upwards. And make sure u have the converter all the way in.

follow this for your spacing. just make sure the converter is seated the whole way before you bolt the trans up or you run the risk of breaking the pump.

And like I said you should measure it.... It will be just over an inch from the converter pad to the end of the belhousing where the bolt holes are

hard to tell cuz the pic is at an angle, but it loooks like it needs to go in more. Don't baby it. Spin it and jurk it around tell you feel it go in there. It looks like it still needs to go in a bit

If your hands are skinny enough, you could fit acouple fingers between the TC and trans and feel if its butted up against the seal. It also took me alittle while to line up the trans and engine, once you get the alignment pegs close to the guide holes on the bellhousing, look through the bellhousing window and make sure the TC is lining up with the back of the crankshaft.

from that pic it only looks to be around 3/4" from the pad to the bell housing although its hard to tell from that angle. it should be somewhere around 1 1/8". looks like it needs to drop again.
