What is the proper way to launch in an auto?

I have an A4 with 3.23 and don't even come close to the rev limiter in the quarter mile - basically stock - hit about 103mph in the 1/4. The only time I have hit the rev limiter is on the dyno in 3rd gear, but that was at about 140 MPH!!!!. If I had 2.73, I would hit the rev limiter a little over 160MPH! in 3rd gear!. Not likely to pull that in the 1/4....
What you are saying makes absolutely no sense unless you are making like 1200 HP or something...
