I gotta say it...ditch those fking gears...DITCH THOSE FKING GEARS...their horrible...I just did last week....best/noticable/fun/sotp/throttle response/ around town feeling ever. It truly does fell like I picked up 50hp...pulls so much better in 2nd and 3rd. No more sluggish *** 2:73s anymore....If you do chose a stall, listen to lemons, and please update when your done cause I had to make the same decision last month....Chose 3:73s instead and couldn't be ANY happier..

3600 without a doubt.. however I would buy a ptc.

No reason to go with a 3200 over a 3600 unless its something like a big shot nitrous car, not your case.

Easiest way is to buy a complete rear and swap it.

so i would prob be better off saving the money and keeping 2.73s for gas mileage and all that and just get a 3600 stall? when people say a 3600 stall with 2.73s feels "loose" though, what exactly does that mean should i even be concerned about that? lol

That is what I would do. I personally like a loose feeling converter, few hate it.

It will just take a little more rpms to put you in your seat under part throttle.. They are talking anywhere from Idle up to 3/4 throttle In most cases.
It won't give you that feeling like you are driving a tq monster, it will just feel like you have a slipped trans almost.
I could care less how it feels, when I want to have fun I'm wot and how it acts and how quick It is under wot gauges how muh fun I'm having.

The difference between a 3200 and 3600 as at as feeling more or less loose is minimal, not enough you would ever ever say man I wish I had gone 3200... go 3200 and Im sure you will wish you would have went 3600, everybody does usually.

Ghost listen....look at the 4 and 5 pages posted in the serch option above....3:73s or 3000 stall.
and the updated version....I was just in the same boat within the last month...I too was worried about the looseness...whatched videos..read all I could...almost listened to lemons..lol...went to other websites and asked the same question...More people honestly voted for gears first...3:42s or 3:73s...did that post to...3:73s all the way....kinda mostly stock here to...daily drive just like the next guy...pick my daughter up from school..never drag/street race....I too was concerned if 73s are too much..Their not man, just perfect....Like I said above...your 2:73s are very sluggish and you know that...I was worried about the city driving with a stall...I don't want any looseness/I don't want to rev more to get moving..it's bad enough you have to rev with 2:73s with hardly any response....I want more response/quicker accel through the whole rpm range/0-35,45,55 quicker than ever... and you do to you trust me..I finally got to drive after the install this last monday....my god it's soooooo much more enjoyable...I just can't express how satisfied I really am..

I did motive series 2, you want the deluxe install kit(it has everthing for the install) differential fluid, and 2 quarts gear oil, all from the ws6 store cost was 337$.

273+3600, nowhere near boring..

I mean know offence to Justin when I say this, I hope he knows that by now, he doesn't know what he is talking about. all he knows is that he loves 373s with a stock converter. I have been in many different setups with different gears different converters etc etc.

I would have stock gears, no mater which ones, and a nice converter over stock converter and gears, ANYDAY of the week. No comparison, in performance or fun factor.

Justin, same goes for you.. I was seeing a lot of replies in your threads by people that have never had one or the other or either jn some cases or just owned or rode in one car with said mods.

Hard to give advice if you don't know quite a bit about everything being discussed, I opened your eyes to that in your thread as well.

I have owned/been in.. stock stall 373 full bolt on ls6 cam, then later added 3200 converter, h/c/I 410 4400, h/c 373 3600, h/c 373 4000, bolt on 3400 323, h/c 323 4400, I could go on and on. I have a good idea of how converters and gears a act, many sizes, many gears, many brands, etc.

98-02 LS1 Ratech Deluxe Gear Installation Kit ws6 store if you have any questions just ask them...call to order like I did.

I'm not that good....I def. had mine pro installed...my install ran me 314$ and that's pretty good..you HAVE to take the time to call/ask around..I was first quoted 600$..typically 3-500$ for install

type in the forums serch option everything you can about 3:73s you'll read first hand what I'm telling you right now...In my opinion..gears are the way to go...I'm an honest guy giving you honest answers..it took a year for me to get my gears...I pussed out last year until I understood more about my car...I thought all the info I was getting from this site and a couple others were from your typical street/track racers...It's not like that....lot's of daily drivers including me.....you'll love the gears man...their PERFECT especially coming from 2:73s...car feels like it should've came like this...trust me

So you have almost 700$ in gears!?!?!

Justin, I promise you would like 342s just as much, better mpg and almost identical sotp feeling. Not as rough on rear, won't whine later on.

I have two sets of 323s.. if you want them I will sell them for cheap.. will eliminate 3rd gear 273 lag, still good mpg. Then go get a converter!!
