If your going with anything above the torquer v2 I would highly recomend a bigger stall. I am only going with the 228r wich is a little smaller than the v2 and im still wishing I had bigger than my 3400 stall. With ms3 or ms4 your going to need a 3600 stall minimum. With the v2 I would go with a 3200-4000 stall. Definately nothing smaller than the 3200

233/238 112lsa, 4.10's and daily driving with the Circle D 3200. It's a great budget tc imo. Pulled a 1.90 60ft on sad street tires lol. Can't wait to see what it will do with my new setup.

If you're going to get gears then you should definitely go with something a lot bigger. I have a 3600/3.15 gear and it drives great around town(only car I own). If you go with the 3200 you'll wish you had gone higher, especially when you get the gears in. Move up to the 4C.

Now if you go with a gear ,3.42 or 3.73 will work just fine. Some will say don't even bother with a gear change if you have 3.23 gear now. 4.10 gear is overkill for a A4 IMO.
When you get your stall ,you must get a tune and a tranny cooler. I know you said you want to go without one for awhile ,but it's a must do for better performance .
Best advice I can give you ........SAVE YOUR MONEY !! Cause as soon as you do one thing to your car ,then you gonna want to do another ,then another, and another ,etc, etc. Save your money and take your time ,man. It will come together sooner than you think. Good luck

i dd an FTI 3200 stall with 3.42's in my TA. very streetable and a good combination for a mild car in my opinion. i also get a free reflash from Greg so when i put the heads and cam on i can step up the stall. i'm very happy with the setup for now.

when i did my cam swap i added a 3600 stall, tranny cooler and 3:73 gears all at once so i could save money and have it all tuned at once. i got the g5x3 on a 114 through a a4 and it drives fine to me but i only drive it once maybe twice a week. i was told that anything below a 3600 would be disappointing and a waste.

That was a kinda dumb statement. Some ppl daily drive there cars and don't want the trans to get hott or even risk it. I don't think my .7 reduction in e.t was an utter waist with my 3400 stall.
