Heat wave. How's your trans temp?
Hit 100 here in NW Ohio today just wanted to see what everyone else was seeing on their trans temp gauge.
On my Aeroforce Interceptor the IAT was going back and forth from 100-102 degrees and trans temp stayed steady at 199 degrees, hit 201 once for a little bit.
Most I have ever seen on the gauge was 210 when I was driving it hard.

The laser temp gauge could probably give you a good idea but won't be exact I would think.
How cool is cool? I have a trans cooler too and I didn't think 199 was too bad for 100 degree air tempurature.

90f here in ct thats pretty warm for around here. Beating on my stalled auto city, highway, for a total of an hour straight driving time. Trans temps 165f-180f. Keep in mind these temps read off the OBD port so the temps are probably a little lower than if it was an aftermarket setup. Coolant temp is efficient as hell after taking the ac condensor out stays 194f-203f with stock t stat.
My setup...20k GVW fin and tube trans cooler mounted right on the radiator with a SSRA right in front of it. "PERFECT" street car setup IMO.
This is what it looked like before I took the condensor out. Now I have the cooler mounted on the radiator.

Dang 180 in 100+ degree heat!? I should get one of those inline coolers to help mine out.
And my coolant was at 199, most I have ever seen. It's usually 190-194.

Anyways, I deal with 100+ heat index's 10 months out of the year and my auto tranny is fine. Although I don't weekly race my car either I just DD it

I'm also NW Ohio. And yes this heat sucks! My trans never broke 200 all week. Single cooler in front of radiator, 3600 stall, reading temp from the pan. I was watching it though for sure.

did you say you have an aux cooler? my aeroforce gauge after driving around on a hot day has gotten up to 205º to even 210º but i use the stock radiator cooler and have a yank ss3600 with stock 3.23 gears. then when I get on the highway and the converter locks up it pretty much stays at that temperature for at least 10 minutes until eventually making its way down to around 200º. I dont know why but even if i hop on the highway when cold, the converter will be locked but the temps still creep up into the 180-190 range when its hot out. I have a 160º thermostat but the car runs at around 185º in the heat.

It doesn't take long. Like if I drive like 5 minutes on the highway locked up it'll start to go down pretty quick. The stock cooler gets temps up quick and usually keeps them there, aftermarket coolers don't get up to temp as quick and have an easier time cooling the trans.

everyone should post whether or not they are going through the radiator cooler then aux cooler or bypassing radiator.
to me running through the radiator is what makes most of you run in the 180-200° range.
3200 stall, 105° outside, 187° transmission fluid temp (logged), through radiator cooler first.
