Circle-D is going to be about as light as you'll get probably with a billet cover.

I have heard the circle D converters are really one of the lightest ones, and they have an excellent reputation, also heard they are around a grand. I have a TCS billet converter, It is a super nice piece, and works terrific, but have heard it is a little heavier than some out there.

Our single disk will be just over 30 pounds. The multi will hit about 35. What is it for? If it is track only NA, we can even leave the clutch out getting it down to about 25 pounds. Give me a call or shoot me an "Ask Chris". Be glad to help you out....

100% street car. 441ci.....hoping for 600 RWHP. BUt might add a 150-200 shot.

Roll races from 50mph is all it will ever do. Never a drag track. So I need something that will shine from say 50 - 160mph. Its just my fun car.

I want reliability and longevity over less weight though......thats what the nitrous will be for, to make up for things that steal power. So if a single disc isn't gonna last, I'd go with a multi-disc and the extra weight.

I've had a converter come apart and take out a 4 month old brand new tranny....don't need that hassle again.

Call us there is more to a converters performance than total weight, it is important how the weight is designed into the converter as to rotational mass and fluid volume.

I am sure we can help you out, no doubt there. If you are interested in using lock up under power, then you need a multi disk. For the top speed pulls putting on lock up will help with MPH and keep the heat down. We have a lot of customers use it at the Texas Mile. I also hope you are not going 160 on the street, that is very dangerous. Shoot me an email or call me and we can get something speced out.

I dont wish to get in this debate but if you are going to run the texas mile then a triple disc would be the answer.

weight realy comes into play in comp eliminator, stock and super stock. Any single disc with a billet in a 9.5" is going to weigh around 31-32 lbs. You can lighten it but you will be sacrificing durability. Doing the roll to 160 over a long period this should not be an issue. We have set several salt flat records with single disc converters to save a few lbs but you have to know that the clutch will become a sacrificial part.

Its a street car only....I might accelerate hard from 50-160 once or twice a week on an open highway. I will not be racing it from a 50 roll 10 times a week. Probably never actually race anyone side by side.......I just want a converter that shines for that type of a hard run when I do choose to do it. But it might see that once or twice a week at most.

I want something that will last a long time....over weight savings though. I just thought when I started this thread that there were custom built "lightweight" converters...without sacrificing anything. I guess a multi-disc heavy one is best for me......
