On 13 lbs 720 is around where I hope it's at. If it goes more then it's a bonus. Eventually I wanna try 18lbs and see what it makes.

Here is a walk around video I took today after finally getting the car to idle right. Part throttle fueling is lean so I am adding some fuel in. It stumbles horribly when you snap the throttle. Slowly but surely its getting there.

So you can get a 4L80 out of a 95? What is the highest year you can go to LQ4? How can you you know a 80 from any other? Want to do a swap, what type trucks should I look for? Is the pan different from the 4L60? Just need to know how to Idenify them when I see them. Great car!

Thanks, I have tried several different muffler combos to get it quiet and still sound good. I am probably gonna add a cutout behind the y.

I am glad I inspired someone to do a 80 on the cheapo. Trans rebuilds are pretty easy and I will do one on this unit when it becomes necessary.

Yes, mine came out of a g30 chevy van. Not sure what you mean whats the highest year you can go to an lq4? The older years 80's miss one bolt hole to the gen 3 motors. Mine is like this and not worried about it. Yes the pan is different. You can search 4l80e on google images and search 4l60e and get an idea of what they look like. Thats what I did. Thanks, this car has turned out to be a project that I really didnt want to take on, but brought it on myself. I starting taking things apart and found things that I wanted to redo and make better.

I shot a doe last weekend, lol. Car updates, no. I left out of town Friday morning to head to the ranch and do some work/ hunting. Got back Sunday afternoon. I have class Monday and Thursday night and also an online class. With work its pretty busy during the week so I don't really have much of a chance during the week to do anything other than work and school and somehow fit in some time with my wife and daughter. I really need to get in the car and drive it for a couple of hours and just collect data, tune, repeat. I might get a chance this weekend. I will update with what happens and see if I can get some more vid's. Thanks for following and the support. Josh

Very nice man, im looki9ng to buy a buddys forged 370, t76 making 700rwhp through a t56 on low boost and 93. Within the first couple weeks it would get an RPM 4l80. Definetly not budget but fortunately this time around which is unusual I can afford it then the car will be SOLID.

Congrats on the swap, I refuse to own a car without OD that will ever see the street.

Its ridiculous to drive a car on the street for any distance without and overdrive. The th400 is a great trans if you never plan on going above 50 mph, lol. I am the same way now, I will not own a street car without overdrive. Sounds like you got a fun setup there. Good luck with it.

Thanks for the kind words, I tried to make it as informative as possible. I did the th350 in my old camaro then did the ls t56 swap. Then the th400 in this car. I worked on bmw for 9 years now mercedes and get used to driving nice cars around and just like the comforts. Power windows, power steering and overdrive. Also with gas prices its helps to get decent mileage. I finally got it into boost last night for a brief period. Saw about 9 psi at 5100 rpms. I have a lot of popping and sputtering at part throttle that I am trying to clean up.

Update, drove the car to and from work yesterday. About 50 miles total. Made a couple of 3rd gear runs on the freeway. When you stomp it it downshifts into 3rd and the car rolls hard. The part throttle sputtering is going away with more fuel in certain areas. Its super nice to put it in drive and just go. Once it get the street tuning done it will be dyno time. If the trans hold, lol. If it doesn't then I will pull it and rebuild it. More to come. . . Josh

Update. Drove to and from work on Monday. Trans temp is climbing and won't come down. I have the cooler mounted under the car and knew that it was going to be a problem but did it anyway, lol. I ordered more braided line and will be mounting it up front in front of the condenser. Also want to put a deep aluminum pan of the trans. The trans is performing flawlessly at this point. I made a couple of blasts from 1-2 2-3 and saw 12lbs of boost and the car pulls hard and spins the tires easily. I will be ordering a pan soon and will check out the fluid and see what it looks like at that point and if I have any material in the pan. I am having trouble getting the ve table in line, but when the cars goes in pe mode its runs like a totally different animal. Just figured I would update everyone with my progress. Pics to come when I relocate the cooler.

Make sure that your gauge is reading accurately. Preferably with a infrared temp gun. Will save you a bunch of headache if so.

These transmissions don't have a temperature sensor in them. So unless you put one in then you would have to log it in the EIO plug. I think you may want to try reading it with a temp gun or something similar.
