Looking for ideas or conformation...
I'm thinking take a piece of cardboard and holding it up to the hole from underneath, having another person trace out the edge of the hole and then adding about 3/4" border, as a template for my replacement plate.... then mounting this shifter somehow on stands...
Oh my shifter is this without the cover...
I would like others ideas or even shots of how you mounted your aftermarket shifters.
Thanks,
Duff

Also, I've searched and read as much as I could find... How (other than opening up the case) can you tell if you've got a trans brake?
Thanks,
D

Below are some pics of a couple different cars that I converted recently. Depending on the console and the application I will cut a piece of aluminum plate to match the "footprint" of the shifter mounting plate.

Hope that helps!

Now I've got a few other questions.......
(none of the pictures below are mine - GOOGLE searched literally for 15-20 hours - don't have camera lately)
On my drivers side which looks similar to this is a 1-connection plug above the back of the pan as seen here and it looks like the connection below that...

Now mine isn't this clean...
and whats this one ? It's in the tail behind the pan...
IF it's speed sensing, what do I do to use it? Is it the same as my T-56 connection and straight in???
Thank you! ! !

Remove the speedo sensor and verify that it is a magnetic pick up type sensor vs. a gear driven sensor. Count the teeth on either setup and let me know your tire diameter and gear ratio and I'll make sure you're good to go. The magnetic sensor should have 40 teeth.

Do I add a switch on my throttle to send battery voltage to the spade connector at WOT? My tune is currently for an M6... Should I change that to A4 and modify the daylights out of it?
Thanks
