Default Tranny Cooler Install

I've been postponing the install for some months but I finally have the money and time. I know a lot of you install it yourself but I'm not the most mechanically inclined person. How hard is it of an install??? Ive changed the spark plugs, oil, and brakes so I'm somewhat familiar with the car. I havent looked into the brand or type I should purchase but I'm sure I can find something along with a write up maybe??? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Pretty simple really. Just screw in your fittings make sure your hose is clamped good.

Here is my install

Its the kind of job that AFTER you're done, you'll be like jeez, I can do that again in 20 minutes next time to another car.

I suggest NOT putting it up against the A/C condensor. I mounted mine standing away from the condensor. That cooler gets HOT and the HOT air coming off of it goes right onto the condensor and causes a hot spot the size of the cooler. I recently put another one on the other side in parallel. They work great.....
....it was a bitch to drill my holes in the frame, need a sideway drill.

Go buy 6 feet of 3/8" heater hose and new clamps. Run the hose from the tranny cooler lines up in front of the condensor, connect them to the new cooler ports and clamp everything down. Then mount it with zip ties or bolts like I did. Thats it.

If you've done your plugs, oil, etc. then you have the mechanical knowledge to do a transmission cooler assuming you do a little bit of research beforehand as to not go in blind.

I chose to mount mine to the front of the radiator with the wire ties they provided. I opted to drill 1" holes through my fan shroud so I could run the ties through easily, rather than remove it. I wasn't careful enough, and when the drill bit pushed through, it hit the radiator and water started coming out, lol. The surface area of a radiator that I could hit where it would puncture was like a one in a million shot too. Go figure.

I pulled the radiator out and had it welded for $20, but what was supposed to be a quick job turned out to be a few hours more than anticipated. Take your time ;P

Thanks for the links everyone they were very helpful. Been going through the different installation links and it seems kind of confusing to take in right now but I'm sure that once I'm under the car it'll be different. I'm going to order my cooler and we'll see how it goes. Hopefully all goes well

Super simple. I didnt even use directions. Just hooked up the lines to the trans, routed them cleanly to the front and Zip tied the cooler to the front of the radiator. No problems at all. Although I did by the Madman kit with everything you need to get it done.
