So i think i have finally decided not to go with the comp thumpr cam. Instead i am going to go with 3000-3200 stall and 224r combo. Does this sound like a good combo with 4.10 gears?

If you go with a stall converter you must realize that you are going to be running your car in a higher rpm range around town. My 2800 stall reminds me of my 95 Z28 with the 6 speed, I just hated 1st gear. Just an FYI if this is your DD. Take a ride in someone you knows car to get the feel first, just my opinion.

I ran a 3200 with a TR224 and 3.23s. VERY DD friendly.

I have a 3600 Yank ss, couldnt imagine going lower. This is my DD and you get used to it after 2 days. I drive pretty much around town/city like and I only noticed 2 mpg loss.

Good decision IMO.

Since you have 410s it will make the converter feel "tighter" around town, meaning not as many RPMs to get the car moving good.
With that said, I recommend a 3600. A 3200 would do the job, just a lot of room for improvement.

Either way, it will be a nice combo.

A stalled auto and a manual are nothing alike, not even close.... Unless you are riding around with the clutch half way engaged.

That would be a well matched setup.

I think he gets what your sayig in the sense that in a stick you will slip the clutch which makes the rpms go higher on takeoff and the manual will also have a shorter 1st gear making rpms higher there also. However that is all determined by what gear you run and just because you 2800 stall is very loose or tight doesnt mean someone elses will or wont be.

With his 410s I bet a 3600 stall will feel almost stock compared to your 2800 in a stock geared car. Also str rate and efficiency in the converter will have a large parts in saying how loose a converter feels. There are just too many variables between his car and yours to give an accurate feel on what a particular stall will be. Even more so if he has a billet stall compared to a stock unit thats been modified like you have
