Default Circle D - Cool Updates

Wanted to let you guys know of some of the improvements we are doing to our converters. First is our upgraded impeller hubs on the 4L60. These have been a problem in the industry for cracking and possibly causing pump problems in the transmissions. We have an upgraded hub that has had spectacular results, zero failures with over a year of use. Not saying it is bullet proof, but it is about as close as we can get. We started using it on our flagship multi disk and have now transitioned it to our complete 4L60 line, LT or LS, single or multi. This upgrade has been in place for about 6 months. Some of the other small improvements are new specs for internal clearances to make sure the hub fully engages on the pump rotor and maxing out the overall height to hopefully eliminate the need for shims. As always, any questions just ask....

Thanks guys, appreciate the kudos... This is an often overlooked failure on the 60e converters. Upgrading to the newer HD impeller hub is a huge improvement in durability. If the thinner hub cracks it can start leaking and eventually take out the trans pump.

Chris,
So what should all of us older converter owners do? Do we need to upgrade? Can you fix the problem before its too late or should we even worry? Everything seems to be working great.

The failure rate is not overwhelming, so you are probably ok. Our goal at CDS is zero converter failures. We are always working on something new and improved and eliminating the weak links. The intent was not to scare you on an older design. Just a update on our newer stuff....
