ok well im about to buy and install a yank ss3600 converter, and i was looking at new flexplates also,

im already paying a good penny for the converter, this is 150 more, what exactly will it do? is it worth it?

It's good (cheap)"insurance", but I still have my stock flexplate. My converter has been in the car for a little over 2 years now, and no issues yet.

You have a 00? I think you have one of the better ones BUT I would buy a new one just to make sure. You might as well. I suggest get the one from yank. I think its under 100.
I ended up using a ls3 plate with my ss3600.

I went with a '98 flexplate because the later ones crack
easier. At the time, you could find clean ones easily (I
got mine from 'valvegod').
