Something could be going wrong with the trans. I had a reverse apply pin go out when I changed converters....beats the hell out of my why it decided to crap out when not being used. Not a detriment, just another idea.
Fwiw my built 400 had less then 1000mi on it when it happend

Have you dyno'd your car? That cam should make power up top too, so spinning it higher "may" help. What was the 60ft time with the 4,000?
I'd have to agree with 01ss....something seems wrong overall, at least on the first half of the track. Does the car feel sluggish at all?

If it is only droping 800 rpm on the shift, that is not a loose converter. I spin my 2000 Bird to 7000,and my sons 02 Camaro to 7200 on the stock bolts. Both cars have 300-400of 1/4 mile passes, each.

I just read in you other thread that you actually had a better 60' with the SS4000. When did you have the converter restalled?

It has to do with the fact that his setup sucks. 1.8s on an SS3600 and 1.7s on an SS4000 is garbage. The point is if I had a crappy 60' with one converter and swapped to another one and STILL had a crappy 60' time I would look somewhere OTHER than the converter. What kind of transmission tuning does he have?

What kind of times was your cousin's customer's car running with a 1.52 60'. That kind of 60' would have to put him on the stock internal list if he was just bolt-ons.

He's not concerned so much with the 60' but the fact that it ran slower on the big end even with a slightly better 60'. Transmission tuning doesn't affect 60's.

Here is the Camaro cutting 1.52 60' times and 11.6s in the 1/4 with stock internals. I think his whole setup is QA1s all around, adjustable everything (TQ arm, LCAs, Panhard) BMR kmember with upper and lower CAs. Performabuilt LVL2. FAST 90/90. Also before you say "That's not an 11.6 pass" read the comments. He went 11.6s the same day with tuning.
