M6 to A4 checlist.. add to it..

If anyone can answer these questions/add anything im missing please do so.. trying to see how bad this swap is gonna be..

Transmission (4l60 or 4l80)
Flywheel
Converter
Console
Flexplate
Linkage
Driveshaft (is the M6 one compatible or not?)
Crossmember
Trans cooler/Lines
Pedals
-----Tuning/Electrical
1. Can I run the 98 ECU? Obviously Ill need a tune, but do I run the 98 ECU and use a 4l60 harness? do the 4l60 harness's plug into the main harness? or do i need to get a whole ECU/PCM/Harness? seems to be basic minus the whole electrical thing.. the car is a 98 so...

keep the m6 petals they are free lol and you still need a dipstick and tube make sure its the ls1 4l60e tube after i did the swap i had used a ton of parts off my brothers old v6 camaro and the dipstick was the only thing that didn't work. driveshaft is the same length!

Driveshaft is the same. You need just a flexplate for an auto not a flywheel. Flywheel is a manual trans part.

You can use the PCM but it needs to be flashed to a A4 tune. You need a A4 harness from a 98 car only. Or swap to a 99 up PCM and harness.

98 is the bastard year where you can't just swap anything in that you want from another year.

gotcha. so i can just grab a harness.. awesome. if i do go up to a 99 harness and ecm what connections wont work on the rest of the car/motor.

another question.. about trans cooling.. im assuming fbodys trans cooler is part of the radiator? would my m6 car have that same radiator.. if or if it doesnt can i just run one big aftermarket cooler ie b/m and just mount it somewhere? or will that not suffice?
