Who is running a 4L80e transmission in their F-body? How do you like it? Pros? Cons? If you could do anything different what would it be? Was it worth it over a 4L60/65e?

Thanks in advance!
Kyle

How do you like it? They are great for the cost
Pros? Strong as hell for a budget swap
Cons? Its like 270 pounds wet
If you could do anything different what would it be? I wish I could afford a Jakes performance 4l80
Was it worth it over a 4L60/65e? For sure, Other than the weight they are over built from the factory

Thanks in advance!
Kyle

A lot of the extra weight is the stock 4L80E converter, not much heavier when the converter is an aftermarket lighter one.

A stock 4L80E in 2wd configuration, minus converter, semi-wet is 178 lbs. Approx 30-35 lbs heavier than a 4L60E or TH400.

That's not that bad honestly. On the weight I was figuring 100 lbs. Stock 4l80 convertor would break your foot if ya dropped it lol

Just bought a 4L80E today to put into my LQ9, 2002 Z28. I still have to get the conversion harness and different trans mount and yoke, but I'm excited about having a lot more torque capability. We'll soon find out if it is worth it or not!
