Default Brake on a stock 4l80e

Im swapping a 4l80e into my 84 firebird and I want to know everyone's opinion on jakes manual control and trans rake on a 05 tranny with 5k miles that will be otherwise stock. I wanna leave it stock for a year until I can afford to tear it down for a build. Let's hear your opinions.

Thanks

Don't do it. First time you use the transbrake it's liable to snap the input shaft right in half. That is a big reason why Jake says the billet input shaft is needed when using a transbrake in a 80e.

I have a Jakes 80, He recommends that billet shaft when you start pushing the 750-800+ range.
As far as the Transbrake goes, I have no complaint at all,, works perfect, and releases fast, Only works in low gear that way You cant accidentally engage it at high speeds.

I have Jakes 4l80e that I just installed today and should be launching out on the brake in a few weeks. On a stock input shaft.

Thanks guys. I got a 07 not a 05 tranny. I hope to get stuff rolling here soon. Only paid 450$ for the trans.

Well I stand corrected if Jake says it's ok, then it's ok. I trust Jake more than anyone on these 80e's aside from Jim@transformance.
