Default 4L60E Trouble Shifting 2>3

I have a 95 trans am lt1 with 160,000 miles and a trans rebuild at 135,000 with shift kit and torque converter upgrade. The trans has no problem down-shifting but ***** out when and only when I try to go from 2nd to 3rd and full throttle. The car makes a popping noise and I feel the car lose power as the rpms go past the redline while full throttle in second. Anyone have an idea of what the problem may be? (It has no problems shifting in any other gears)

It's only at full/close to full throttle. Even if I ease off the gas, it sometimes goes past redline anyway from 2>3.

It appears as though the 3/4 clutches have excessive clearance, there may be an issue with the 3rd gear accumulator circuit causing the clutches to burn.

What is the fluid condition?

It's bright red with splotches of black/brown. I'd say 85% red and 15% of it was brown spots.
