Default Yank SS 3600

Let the modding begin... Bought me a Yank SS3600 along with the B&M Cooler, thinking of doing 373's while I am at it... Should wake my little Vert right up.... I'll keep ya posted..

I've already got the 3.73s, but this is the converter I've got my eye on. If only my trans wasn't so questionable

Converter is perfect for the car, 373s might bee too much for it imo. I'd stick with 342s

I was running same converter with 3.70's in my 9" and it was an awsome combo on the street with MT ET Streets. Just get the computer tuned properly.

Thanks for the feedback men.... You know, I was thinking 342's... Kind of "middle of the road".... I "may" go that route. I'll be adding a nice cam w supporting mods in a few months. Man, I am only running the Nitto 555's... 315's... They are Brand new though!

Figured 373's are the best bang for the buck w this converter. I have ran it (the Yank) in every A4 Fbod that I have owned. Either way it's gonna wake my little Vert up... Should be really fun once the weather begins to warm up again.

My 01 Firehawk had the Yank SS3600, hand ported 241's G5X2 cam, Fast 92, headers, Borla and made 430/405 to the wheels w 323's.... Gear change is gonna be night and day....

I've had two sets of MT ETs, Nitto NT555 and Nitto NT05.
The MT hook the best at the drag strip, but are terrible for any cornering and have terrible directional stability on the HWY.
The Nitto NT555 are marginal at the drag strip, but corner very well and drive straight at any speed.
The Nitto NT05 are good at the drag strip (not as good as the MT) and also corner very well and great on the highway.
Therefore I now run the MT only on the drag strip and the NT05 on the street.
I also just bought a set of BFG g-Force Sport COMP-2 for upcoming road course racing.
They don't seem to corner any better than the NT05 and have terrible acceleration traction.
Gen4 have much better suspension than my Gen2 and if your NT555 work well at the track, there is no reason to get MT. Just replace the NT555 with NT05 next time.

UPDATE: 98CayenneT/A points that the correct model numbers are NT555R and NT05R.

Assuming you're on R's with the nittos I agree 100%
Imo the Nt05r is the best all around radial

3.73 will trap 130 before running out of gear in a stock tire size. Go that route.

Both lol. The posi in my stock high mileage 10 bolt broke then I swapped in another one and after I had the car on the dyno with the newer rebuilt 10 bolt it started howling like crazy so I decided to bite the bullet and get an s60.

So far I've had no trouble with my '81 10-bolt. Before installing even my LS2 I had it welded (with Nickel) to connect the tubes to the case. And I'm using a reinforcement cover which helps keep the bearing caps in place. Also an Eaton Posi and Moser axles.
As I understand it, higher ratios are harder on the differential because the torque multiplication is higher. And of course slicks are harder on the entire drive train than street tires.

I love my SS 3600. It completely changed my car even with a 2.73 gear. IMO the size of the stall is more critical compared to the gear ratio. Choosing between 3.73 and 3.42 won't make a bit of difference.
