Just replace shift solenoids still slipping?

Just replace shift solenoids still slipping? I just replaced both solenoids in the tranny but its still slipping in 3rd and 4th gear. Its revving up and doesnt go into gear until i let off the gas... I havent checked the codes and my CEL is on. Do I have to clear the codes for the solenoids to operate correctly or does it even matter? any info greatly appreciated thanks
